Fueled by her imagination and a backpack full of snacks, H.M. Lawson spent hours of her childhood exploring the fields and river near her Midwest home. She and her sister were pioneers, archaeologists and treasure hunters. Little did Lawson know that these early years of pretending would one day lead to a passion for creating. Aside from writing, some of her recent projects include woodworking, book-binding, and learning to play the banjo. She currently lives in northern Illinois with her husband, and two children. They have a dog, a gecko, two birds, and six chickens. The Waterstone is her first book.
